Overview
Interact provides a utility for restoring a previous backup of the database. Restoring a backup will replace the current database.
To restore a database backup, click Utilities | Restore. A window similar to the following will appear.
Restore
To select from a list of available backups, click the SET button to the right of Backup Filename. Navigate to the location where backups are stored. Double click to select the file name.
Click the Restore button to restore the database backup. During the restore, the current database is overwritten with the backup file selected.
Restore
Restoring a backup will replace the current database. Data loss is possible. Transactions created after the backup was created, will be lost.
Contact AWS Support with any questions before restoring a database.
Restore Successfully Completed will appear at the bottom of the window once the restore is complete.
Options...
To set default restore operations, click the OPTIONS...
button. A window similar to the following appears.
Default Backup Directory
- Remember last directory used - When this option is selected, the default backup folder is automatically set to the last folder used.
- Always start in the following directory - When this option is selected, the backup will always be stored in the folder selected.
SQL Server Remote Backup
Not applicable for Restore.
Default Filename
Not applicable for Restore.
SET...
Click the SET...
button to make a one time change by selecting a different folder. When clicked, Windows File Explorer will open. Use this window to temporarily change the backup filename and storage location.
Click the SAVE
button to save changes. Click the CANCEL
button to return to the Restore window.
