Special Weights

Threshold

Threshold is the weight at which the program recognizes that a truck is on the scale. A transaction will not be stored unless a truck is on the scale. Threshold is also used frequently in unattended operations.

Tolerance

Tolerance is the weight at which the program recognizes movement on the scale. In most cases, the scale indicator will supply a flag or bit that is used to determine motion. Some indicators do not. In these cases, the program will determine scale motion using the tolerance value. Transactions cannot be stored while the scale is in motion.

Zero Band

Zero Band is only used in unattended mode transactions. It is the weight about zero at which the program will automatically zero the scale. The scale must stabilize within this band and a auto zero command must be defined for the scale port before the zeroing takes place.

Warning Weights

Warning Trigger Weight

The Warning Trigger Weight works independently from all other set minimum/maximum values. It is used to trigger a warning message to appear when a scale weight has exceeded the set value. To use this feature enter a weight in pounds and enter a message in the Warning Message box.

Info
titleWarning Message

This feature will not work when the Warning Message box is blank.

Example Weigh In / Weigh Out: Trigger Weight = 50,000

Warning Trigger Weight = 50,000 pounds

Warning Message = A Weight has Exceeded the Trigger Weight of #### lbs

Minimum/Maximum Net and Gross Values = 0

Truck drives onto the scale to Weigh In. Scale goes above 50,000. When the operator clicks the Store Ticket button the following warning message appears.

Click Yes to store the transaction with the exceeded weight. The warning message will appear again during the Weigh Out portion of the transaction.  Click Yes to continue and print the ticket.

Or click No, to return to the Transaction Details window.

However, the Warning Message appears for all set minimum/maximum Net and Gross values.

This weight is typically set a little below the gross maximum weight for all truck types.  When a truck meets or exceeds this warning weight, a message similar to the following will be displayed to notify the operator.

This message will appear in attended and unattended Auto-Touch mode (need to text in ATouch).  This is a global setting that applies to all truck types.  Specific warning weights for a truck type can also be defined.  The warning weight specified for the truck type supersedes the global warning weight.

Enter a meaningful message in the Warning Message box. This message will appear during attended transactions when the warning weight has been exceeded.

When Truck Types are in use a warning weight can also be configured for each truck type. To set a value different from the global value, select Maintain | Truck Types. Select the truck type from the available list and enter a value in the Warning Weight box. Set a value for each truck type.

The warning message entered in the Warning Message box found by selecting Setup | Weigh Options – Weighting will be used for both warning limits. When the Gross Weight of the truck exceeds this value during a transaction, Interact will display a warning similar to the following

Warning Message

This is the message that will be displayed when the warning weight is met or exceeded.  The message can be up to 255 characters in length.
