Overview
Stored tare weights allow for single weighments when the vehicle is full. Interact can store up to three tare fields; types: Tare1, Tare2, and Tare3. the names of these tables can be custom configured according to the end user's specific application.

Tare refers to the empty weight of the vehicle. Gross refers to the vehicle weight plus the load. Net refers to the gross weights minus the Tare weight. |
Material Direction
Interact determines how a stored tare weight is used based on the default material direction set in Setup | Weigh Options. if the store tare is used as the weight in or weight out of the transaction based on the default direction set in Weight Options. When default When the default material direction is set to Outgoing any stored tares will be stored in the Weigh In field during a transaction. When the default material direction is set to Outgoing stored tare weights Incoming any stored tares will be stored in the Weight In field

The default direction can always be changed during a transaction or set differently for Job Items.
Stored Tare Transaction
Default Direction = Outgoing
To start a transaction, click Weigh from the menu bar. The Create Transaction window will appear.
Trucks with stored tare weights can bypass the weigh in process and go directly into the yard to pick up their load. The truck returns to the scale weight will change as the vehicle drives once they are loaded. The weight on the scale represents the gross weight of the truck.

All transactions are started by selecting a hauler
For this example the transaction will be started by selecting a hauler from the Hauler drop-down list.

Once the hauler is selected, press the Image Added
Start the transaction by selecting a Truck, Hauler or Job (Hauler for our example). Press the Enter key on the keyboard to continue.

The above is an example of the Transaction Details window in its simplest form. Additional fields may appear on this form when zones for calculating freight, additional categories, or any of the 23 note fields are active.
The scale weight appears in the WEIGHT IN field.
The scale operator can simply go through the list, select the items required for the transaction, and click the Image Removed Store Ticket button.

The driver can exit the scale. All open tickets remain in the Open Transactions list until the driver returns to weigh out.
Weigh Out
When the vehicle returns to the scale, the weight will be displayed in the scale area. To complete an open ticket, select the open ticket from the Open Transactions list.

After selecting the ticket, the Transaction Details window reappears. The Transaction Details window contains information stored during the Weigh In process. If the incorrect ticket was selected, click the Cancel button to return to the Open Transactions list.

The scale weight appears in the WEIGHT OUT field, the WEIGHT NET is calculated, and any weight conversions are listed under the WEIGHT NET field.
Charges are calculated based on default settings at the account or job level. The Added Charge field is available if any additional fees need to be added to the transaction.
Click the Complete Ticket button to complete the transaction. The Process Ticket Payment window appears.

The Process Ticket Payment window is a summary of the transaction charges.
Credit/Charge on Account
The Payment type will be set based on the accounting terms set for the Bill-To account. When None is the selected item, it indicates the customer is allowed to charge on their account. They will receive an invoice the next time invoices are generated. The above screen shot is an example of a charge account.
Click the tare weight is displayed in the Weigh In field, the gross weight on the scale is displayed in the Weigh Out field. The difference between the Weigh In (tare) and Weigh Out (gross) is calculated and displayed in the Weigh Net field.
Additional transaction details are collected, such as material, job, notes, etc. To complete the transaction, click the Image Added Complete Ticket button.
The Process Ticket Payment window appears.

The truck arrives on site loaded. The loaded truck drives onto the scale. The scale displays the gross weight of the truck.

Multiple Tare Weights
The following is an example of a stored tare transaction using two of the three available tare tables. Default direction is set to Outgoing.
Start the transaction by selecting a Truck, Hauler, or Job (Hauler for our example). Select each tare type from each of the tare lists (Truck and Trailer for our example).

The sum of the selected tares is displayed in the Weigh In field. The scale weight is displayed in the Weigh Out field. The difference between the Weigh In (tare) and Weigh Out (gross) is calculated and displayed in the Weigh Net field.
Additional transaction details are collected, such as material, job, notes, etc. To complete the transaction, click the Image Added Complete Ticket button.
The Process Ticket Payment window appears.

Cash Accounts
A "cash" transaction is a transaction where the customer is paying for the product at the time of the transaction. They will not be billed or invoiced later. When an account's terms are set to Cash Only, the Cash payment type will be set. The customer must make a payment at the time of the transaction. The None option will not be available.
Any of the payment types can be selected to indicate how the customer is paying for the transaction. The following screen shot is an example where the Bill-To account terms are set to Cash Only.

When the Payment type is set to Cash the Cash Tendered field lists the Total due. The scale operator can enter the cash tendered into this field, Interact will calculate the change due.

Click the Image Removed Close Ticket and Print button to complete the transaction.
When the Payment type is set to Check, a field becomes available to record the check number.

Enter the check number and click the Image Removed Close Ticket and Print button to complete the transaction.
When the Payment type is set to Credit Card, a field becomes available to enter the Slip Number the credit card machine receives when the credit card payment has been processed. The slip number is optional and can be left blank.

Change Material Direction or Ignore Tare
Change Direction
Use the Direction field to change the material direction for the current transaction.

Ignore Tare
Select Ignore Tare from the drop-down list to ignore the stored tare weight and process the transaction as a weigh in / weigh out transaction.
Update Tare Weights
The Image Added Tare button in the Transaction Details window allows for tare weights to be updated without leaving the Weigh screen. With the empty truck on the scale start the transaction by entering a truck or selecting a Hauler from the drop-down list.

Click the Image Added Tare button. A message similar to the following will appear.

Click the Image Added YES button to replace the old tare weight with the current weight on the scale.
When the "Cancel Transaction After Updating Tare" feature is activated in the Truck section of the Setup | Weigh Options window, the transaction is automatically cancelled.
When the "Cancel Transaction After Updating Tare" feature is inactive in the Truck section of the Setup | Weigh Options window, the operator can continue processing the transaction and store the ticket or they can click the Cancel Ticket button to manually cancel the transaction.
Other Buttons
When the Close Ticket (Don't Print) button is used, the transaction will be completed, but a ticket will not be printed.
To return to the Transaction Details window, click the Cancel button.
To return to the Create Transaction window, click the Cancel Ticket button.
