Materials

Use the Material setup window to change the Title for the Material table.

To change labels and set defaults, select Setup | Configure - Materials. A window similar to the following will appear.

Use this field to change the label for the material. 

  • For example, users may refer to the material as Product. They can change the label of the table if they wish.

Click the  Save button to save changes. Click the  Undo button to cancel any changes.

The Material table can have one or two subcategories activated. Subcategories help group items in a table for reporting purposes. To activate either of the subcategories enter a Label in the Subcat1 Subcat 1 or Subcat2 Subcat 2 field and check the Enabled box.

Enter the list of available sub categories subcategories in the Definition Definition field. Type a single unique character identifier followed by a comma and name surrounded by parentheses. There are no spaces between the parentheses or before and after the comma. 

Example - Subcategory

An aggregate company sells many types of products; rock, sand, mulch, etc. To enhance reporting capabilities a sub category subcategory can be activated and each material can be associated with one of the sub categoriessubcategories. When reports are run by material, an option to select the sub category subcategory type will be enabled. When one of the sub categories subcategories is selected only those material items associated with that sub category subcategory will be included on the report. Sub category The subcategory set up would look similar to the image below.

Once active they will be included in the Sub Cats section of the Material table. In the following example a sub category subcategory labeled Type has been added.  Each of the material items The drop-down list in the table can be added to one of the user defined sub categories listed; None, Material table will display Rock, Sand, Mulch, and Other in our example. The sub category is available when running reports where Material is selected as a Group Option. When one of these types is selected, only the material items belonging to that sub category group will appear on the report.

Click the Image Added Save button to save changes. Click the Image Added Undo button to cancel any changes.

Custom Fields

These additional fields can be treated like note fields and can be used to print additional information on tickets or to export required information for a 3rd party application.

To activate a custom field enter a name in one of the five (5) available fields and check the Enabled box. When enabled the field will appear in the Material table.
