Locations - Example 4

Location - Example 4 Overview

Single office setup with two (2) Interact scale licenses and one (1) Interact office license sharing a database on a local network.

Settings

Scenario One

The site has two scales. Two computers will be used to process transactions for either scale. Each computer can read the scale data stream from both scales. The customer wants to ensure sequential ticket numbers regardless of the scale used to complete the transaction. The office license is used to manage the database, correct transactions, run reports, and process invoices.

  • Two scale computers processing scale transactions

  • One office computer.

Maintain | Locations Location Name- Only one Location needs to be added.

Maintain | Locations - Sites (Databases)- Only one database will appear in the Sites (Databases) list.

Setup | Ticket Numbers - Options

  • Two Ticket Number groups are created. the scales share one ticket number group to generate sequential ticket numbers, and the office machine uses the second.

  • One ticket number group to be shared between the three machines. This will allow for sequential ticket numbering between all three machines.

Setup | Invoice Numbers - Only one Invoice Number group is needed.

Setup | Accounting Permissions - Accounting database permissions will be set to

Invoicing | "Allow one database to invoice all transaction"

Distribute Payments | "This database"

Statements | "This database"

Scenario Two

The site has two scales. One scale is used at the Asphalt plant, the second scale on the other side of the yard is used for Aggregate sales. Transactions for both operations can be combined into one database. The list of materials should be refined to show only the materials available at each scale.

In this example three Locations will be configured in the same database, Asphalt, Aggregate, and Office. Each machine will have their own ticket number group. One Invoice Number group will be added.

A shared database on a local network will be in use.

Maintain | Locations Location Name- Add a Location for each machine.

  • Asphalt

  • Aggregate

  • Office

Maintain | Locations - Sites (Databases)- Only one database will appear in the Sites (Databases) list.
