Cash Drawer

Overview

The Cash Drawer feature works only with the cash drawer purchased directly from AWS, Inc. For more information or to purchase a cash drawer, contact your AWS representative or AWS Support.

The cash drawer provided by AWS, Inc. is a USB device. Simply plug the drawer into an available USB port on the computer to connect and power the device. Port configuration is not required.

Cash Drawer

To add a cash drawer, click the  New button. Choose the device type from the available list, Cash Drawer.

Click the OK button to add the device.

A window similar to the following will appear.

Enter a meaningful name for the device, Cash Drawer for our example.

Click the  Save button.

How it works

The drawer will open automatically when a transaction for a cash only account is processed. An Open Cash Drawer button is available in the Process Ticket Payment window to open the cash drawer when processing a cash transaction for a charge on account customer.

The drawer will open automatically no matter what payment type option is selected as the Default Payment Type for Cash Transactions setting (Cash, Check, Credit Card Slip, or Electronic Credit Card) in the Setup | Weigh Options - Configuration window.
