User-Defined Conversion UOM

Two conversion factors are available to convert pounds (or kilograms) to a user-defined unit of measure.

To activate either of the conversion options, select Setup | Configure | User-Defined Conversion UOM. A window similar to the following will appear.

Enter a label in the Unit 1 or Unit 2 fields. Both conversions can be used at the same time. 

Examples:

  • Gallons - Used in the Solid Waste Industry to convert leachate from pounds to gallons
  • Bushels - Used in the Agricultural industry to convert grain from pounds to bushels
  • Cubic Yards - Used in the Aggregate industry to convert rock from pounds to cubic yards

Use the +/- to increase or decrease the number of decimal places to store in the database and print on tickets.

Click the  Save button to save changes. To undo any changes, click the  Undo button.

Adding the Conversion Rate

The new conversion fields(s) will be available in the Material table window. 

To enter the conversion rate for each item in the Material table, select Maintain | Materials. A window similar to the following appears.

A section for Conversion Factors is listed. Enter the conversion rate in the available field(s) for each item in the Material table. The rate can be different for each material item.

Click the  Save button to save changes. To undo any changes click the  Undo button.

Rate based on User-Defined UOM

Material charges can be calculated based on user-defined units and printed on tickets. To enable this feature, select Setup | Configure | Prices. A window similar to the following appears.

Place a check in the box next to Charge based on a user-defined unit. Click the  Save button to save changes and continue.

Unit 1 is tied to the Yards column and Unit 2 is tied to the Units column in the Prices tables. To enter a rate for the user-defined UOM select Maintain | Prices. A window similar to the following appears.

Click the  Save button to save changes and continue. To undo any changes, click the  Undo button.
