Hardware Configuration
Connecting the PAX 35 to the computer and internet
Configuring Interact to read the PAX A35Hardware:
Add Port
Select Setup | Devices - Devices. Click the  Add button.
Select Credit Card Reader from the Choose Device Type drop-down list. Click the OK button. A window similar to the following will appear.
Enter a meaningful name for the device.
Select PAX from the Device Type drop-down list.
Enter the IP address of the PAX reader.
PAX Setup
To find the IP address of the PAX reader go to the desktop screen. Use the red X on the device to return to the desktop if not already open. Click the gray setup gear button (looks more like a steering wheel). Scroll down and select About Device. Scroll down until you find the IP Address. A longer address will be listed, just the IP address on the back end is needed like the example below. Click the red X on the device to return to the desktop.
Select the Portico icon on the desktop to start the PAX reader software.
Click the  Save button.
Select the Portico icon on the desktop of the PAX reader to start the software application.
Internet Connection
The PAX A35 will require a Cat5 connection to the live internet. The PAX A35 is preconfigured at Heartland before it is delivered to the end user. There is no additional configuration of the PAX A35 required.
