Communication issue with the Network
Receiving a communication error message means the card reader machine does not have a connection to the network.
Possible Solutions:
- Check to ensure the Ethernet cable is plugged into the network and reader.
- Contact the IT department, have them check for network connection issues.
Slightly different messages will appear depending on when the reader loses its connection to the network.
When the Process charge button is clicked, Interact sends charge information to the reader. The reader displays the amount due and the message to tap, swipe, or insert the card. If network communication fails before user presents their card, the reader will decline the read and a No network connection message will be displayed on the reader.
If the reader does not establish a network connection Interact will time out after two (2) minutes. The following message appears.

Click the Cancel button. The following message appears.

After twenty-five (25) seconds the Cancel button will become active. Click the Cancel button to return to the weigh from.
Interact automatically places the transaction on hold. To complete the transaction, select the ticket from the Open Transactions list and click the Complete Ticket button. A different form of payment can be used until the network connection to the reader has been restored.
When the reader loses its network connection before the Process charge button is clicked when the Process charge button is clicked the reader will display the No network connection message. After several seconds the following message appears.

Click the
Cancel button. If the reader has not established a network connection the following message will appear.

Click the
Cancel button again to return to the weigh form.

Network connection restored
When the network connection has been restored the following message will appear.

To continue, click the
Process Charge button. Follow the instructions on the reader to process credit card payment.
